We’re an RCVS-Approved Veterinary Nurse Training Practice!
At Paws in the City, we are proud to be an RCVS-approved Training and Assessment Practice. This means we are recognised to provide high-quality clinical training, practical experience and support to aspiring veterinary nurses as they work towards their professional qualification.
What Does Being an Approved Training Practice Mean?
As an approved Training and Assessment Practice, we offer student veterinary nurses the hands-on clinical experience they need to complement their college or university studies. During placements with us, student nurses will:
- Work closely with our qualified nursing team and experienced clinical coaches.
- Practice essential clinical skills such as animal handling, sample collection, bandaging and patient observation.
- Learn compassionate patient care in a real veterinary environment.
- Get exposure to the daily workings of a busy practice and a full range of nursing duties.
Our team is committed to nurturing the next generation of veterinary professionals in a welcoming and supportive environment.
What This Means for Student Nurses
If you’re training in veterinary nursing—whether through higher education or a vocational qualification, you can complete your clinical placement with us.
We also offer apprenticeship opportunities, where students can train while working, gaining confidence and experience as part of the Paws in the City team. Those taking this route typically start in a role such as a Patient Care Assistant, where they receive support while developing core skills and confirming that a veterinary nursing career is right for them.
Why Train with Us?
We believe that every student deserves personalised support and hands-on learning opportunities. At Paws in the City, you’ll be welcomed into a team that values professional growth, collaboration, and compassionate patient care. Our clinical coaches are here to guide you throughout your training journey, helping you to achieve your best.
Whether you’re just beginning your veterinary nursing journey or looking to complete your clinical hours, we’d love to hear from you.
